Dortmund vs Frankfurt:

Borussia Dortmund - Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2 - Haaland towers in BVB's victory against Frankfurt.

Borussia Dortmund started the season with an impressive success against Eintracht Frankfurt. Attacker Erling Haaland was the man of the evening.

He was able to demonstrate the importance of Erling Haaland for Borussia Dortmund last season. Against Eintracht Frankfurt, the Norwegian attacker just continued.

In the spectacular 5: 2 (3: 1) against Eintracht Frankfurt, Haaland scored two goals himself and was directly involved in two more.

"It's a package, you have to say that," said BVB captain Marco Reus about his teammate. He gave his new coach Marco Rose an almost perfect debut.

From the start, Dortmund didn't want to leave any doubts about who will win this game. BVB started at top speed and brought the Frankfurters into trouble several times at an early stage.

"It wasn't really optimal preparation, if you see the line-up today, that's fine. There is a lot of quality in there.

You saw today that we are still a long way from where we want to be," said Reus. "Frankfurt had too many chances in the second half."

"In the condition, we were in, we had no chance. In the second half, it was a little better. We have to improve our compactness in the coming weeks," said Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner.

Unfortunate goal:

The 25,000 spectators celebrated every BVB action. After almost a year without visitors, the players were in a good mood. The Dortmund team implemented this energy early in the lead after 23 minutes.

After Eintracht lost the ball, Haaland grabbed the ball, sprinted unstoppably over half the pitch, and at the right moment passed Marco Reus, who had run along with him and had no trouble shoving in from eleven meters. Up until then, BVB had virtually overrun the Frankfurt team.

This Dortmund vigour was not affected by the Frankfurt equalizer just four minutes later, which came about under particularly unfavourable circumstances.

Defender Felix Passlack resolutely wanted to clear an attack by Hessen but shot the ball into his own goal to make it 1: 1.

Frankfurt comes out of the cabin in a more organized manner:

After that, the BVB train rolled continuously towards the Frankfurter Tor. Thorgan Hazard scored the 2-1 after 32 minutes completely free.

Two minutes later it was Haaland himself who spitzelte Eintracht's defender Stefan Ilsanker and converted it to 3: 1 alone in front of goalkeeper Kevin Trapp. Oliver Glasner's team could be happy not to have conceded any more goals before the break whistle.

Eintracht came out of the cabin a little more organized and even had the next opportunity to score. Rafael Borré failed with his header to BVB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

However, the Dortmund team persisted, kept the pace and pressure high - and after 58 minutes they scored the 4: 1 through Gio Reyna. Again Haaland had contributed. But Borussia did not stop there.

Who else besides Haaland completed a counterattack after 72 minutes to make it 5-1. His 62nd goal in the 61st competitive game for BVB.

The second goal of the Frankfurt team by Jens Hauge four minutes before the end was the only cosmetic result of the completely overwhelmed Frankfurters.
