The condition of Lorenzo Sanz had come a few days ago when the 76-year-old had been hospitalized in the intensive care unit after days of fever.

According to media reports, Sanz, who according to his son's statements did not want to be a burden on the system and therefore refused an earlier hospital stay, had fallen into a very critical condition.
