The "Miss Universe 2019" is Zozibini Tunzi in 2019 and comes from South Africa. She received the crown from last year's winner Catriona Gray. Zozibini Tunzi (26) from South Africa is the new "Miss Universe".

She prevailed on Sunday night (local time) in the final in Atlanta against Madison Anderson (24, Miss Puerto Rico) and Sofía Aragón (25, Miss Mexico).

Tunzi follows last year's winner Catriona Gray (25, Miss Philippines), who solemnly presented her with the crown. Miriam Rautert (23) started for Germany.

Zozibini Tunzi is a "passionate activist" who is committed to "fighting against gender-based violence," according to the official homepage of the Miss Universe election.

Besides, she is "a proud proponent of natural beauty" and encourages women to love themselves as they are.

Congratulations were given by compatriot Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters (24), who was named "Miss Universe" in 2017.

To a joint photo, Nel-Peters wrote via Twitter: "Congratulations, Zozibini Tunzi, what a woman you are!" Olivia Culpo (27), who held the title in 2012, also tweeted congratulations:

"Congratulations to the new Miss Universe from South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi, you have been beautiful in every way, a well-deserved victory."
