Taubertal Festival 2019

Taubertal Festival 2019:

13 people were slightly injured in the storm on the festival grounds. After the interruption, the program continues but normally.

Due to a storm, the Taubertal Festival 2019 on the border between Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg was interrupted on Friday evening.

13 people were on the site in Rothenburg in the Middle Franconia ob der Tauber slightly injured, said a police spokesman.

After the incident with heavy rain and heavy wind, the music festival was continued on Saturday as planned.

The damages on the festival area were limited according to the organizer. The bottom of the campground was very soft, dozens of tents and pavilions were damaged.

However, the stages are without damage, and so could the festival operation on Saturday and Sunday continue normally.

The appearances of two bands, including one of the headliners with the US punk band The Offspring, had to be cancelled on Friday night.

The thunderstorms started around 9:30 pm. The approximately 15,000-day visitors were asked to seek protection in their vehicles or in the city of Rothenburg.

About 400 music fans came at times in a multipurpose hall. Even those who travelled without a car found shelter from rain and storm. "Many people let others stay without their own car," said a spokesman for the organizer.

Already in the night of Saturday, the organizers had announced in the social networks that the visitors could go back to the campsite.

"Dear Taubertaler, you can leave your cars, please be vigilant and prudent! If you notice that the weather changes again, please seek protection in your car again," the organizers wrote on Facebook. The festival should last until Sunday.
